As part of the CISSMUN experience, we also work in collaboration with Insight Adventures in providing Shanghai Tours for anyone interested. These tours can occur before, during, or after the conference days depending on your needs. We have attached some examples of Shanghai tours that Insight Adventures provides but they can also alter routes to cater towards specific needs or requests. INSiGHT China

The students' visit to the Oriental Pearl Tower and their ascent to the high-altitude observation deck was a memorable experience. In the afternoon, from the platform, they could overlook the vast cityscape of Shanghai, with the modern skyscrapers of the Pudong district, the winding Huangpu River, and the financial hub of Lujiazui clearly visible. As the sun began to set, the golden light bathed the city, creating a captivating scene. Students could also see the busy transportation hubs and streets, feeling the vitality and growth of this international metropolis.
The high-altitude observation deck provided a fresh perspective, giving students a more intuitive understanding of Shanghai's urban development and future prospects.
Visiting Shanghai Museum
A visit to the Shanghai Museum offers students an in-depth exploration of Chinese history and culture. They will admire a rich collection of artifacts, including ancient ceramics, calligraphy, paintings, and historical relics, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the evolution and brilliance of traditional Chinese art. Through expert-guided tours, students will learn about the historical context and cultural significance of these artifacts, deepening their appreciation of China's heritage.
During the visit, students will complete interactive tasks, such as finding specific artifacts, answering historical questions, or taking creative photos, enhancing engagement. They will also design and create cultural products, like bookmarks, postcards, or hand-drawn artwork inspired by the exhibits, blending tradition with modern creativity. Shanghai Urban History - Development Exhibition Hall
Visiting the Shanghai Urban History Development Exhibition Hall is a captivating journey through the rich history of this city. The exhibition hall provides a comprehensive display of Shanghai's historical development, showcasing its transformation from a small fishing village to a bustling metropolis. Through a variety of exhibits, including cultural relics, photographs, and interactive displays, we are able to explore key milestones in the city's history. Huangpu River Cruise
A Huangpu River cruise is the perfect way to experience Shanghai's charm. Departing from Shiliupu Pier, the cruise passes through the Bund and Lujiazui, showcasing dazzling night views on both sides. The Bund on the west bank, known as the "Exhibition of International Architecture," features over 20 historical buildings like the Peace Hotel and the Shanghai Pudong Development Bank Building illuminated in a spectacular light show. On the east bank, Lujiazui is renowned for its modern skyscrapers including the Oriental Pearl Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center, Jin Mao Tower, and Shanghai Tower, all glittering brightly at night. This cruise blends modernity with history, allowing students to enjoy Shanghai's vibrancy and allure amidst the interplay of light and shadow—a nighttime adventure not to be missed.
Tianzifang
Shanghai Tianzifang attracts tourists with its unique historical streets and cultural atmosphere. Shanghai Xintiandi
Shanghai Xintiandi blends history with modernity, located in the heart of the city as a fashionable entertainment destination. Preserved Shikumen architecture combines seamlessly with contemporary design, creating a unique ambiance. It hosts international brands and local specialty shops offering everything from stylish apparel to exquisite handicrafts.
